Early Nurture Pre-School now provides a free breakfast club for all children


A big thankyou to Birmingham Empowerment Forum and FES limited, for supporting and helping Early Nurture Pre-School to deliver a free Breakfast club, to support working families and disadvantage families within the community. The breakfast club provides a nutritional breakfast in line with the DFE nutrition guidance and start well.
Staff support children to develop their physical and emotional health, promoting their understanding about healthy food choices, oral health, rest and exercise. Staff record Allergens and chop foods to avoid choking.
The breakfast club provides a nutritional breakfast inline with the DFE nutritional eat well guide and the EYFS Nutrition Guidance.
We offer 1 fruit and vegetable option,1 portion of starchy carbohydrates a day. This also includes Weetabix and porridge cereals that are low in sugar with milk teaching children about healthy bones and the importance of a nutritious breakfast.
We also offer toast and beans and vegetable spread teaching children about energy foods, protein and foods that help build strong muscles used for growth repair.
We also use characters from start well sending healthy messages to children: Fay 5 A-day talks about 5 fruits and veg a day, we use 2 snacks max talks about 2 snacks including milk and water to drink. Micky me size talks about portion sizes and sammy skills talks about using utensils independently and eating independently, pouring own drinks and spreading butter independently.
